Dakota Hemp is founded by a 5th generation South Dakota farmer, John Peterson and his business partner, Karll Lecher. Together these two veterans are looking to help add clean, sustainable, industrial hemp to US production farming. With numerous local farmers, growing over 1000 annual hemp acres of fiber for our hemp decortication factory, we supply the United States hemp industries with clean, sized, hurd and long, clean, bast fiber. Dakota Hemp utilizes a Canadian Greenfield Technologies Hemp Train decortication system, which specializes in making long unbroken bast fibers ideal for cordages, ropes and textiles. With the processing efficiency of 1.5 tons per hour, we run multiple shifts to meet the demand of a blooming industry.
